| Dear Friends,
With the blessing of the Head of our Order we have been steadily raising funds to purchase a detached property for The Place of Peace and are appealing for your help with this venture.
In the seven years that we have been in Aberystwyth the training and commitment of those who come has deepened and this little Temple has put down strong roots. During this time we have been in rented accommodation and would appreciate the long term stability, and most efficient use of funds, that comes from the trust owning a property.
If the bungalow we are currently renting came up for sale we would like to concider purchasing it, or, failing that a similar three / four bedroomed detached building that is not overlooked by other properties. This would offer guests space, much needed privacy and ease of movement and would provide Rev Master Myoho with her own small modest living area. We would like to offer two private retreat rooms and have permanent office space as well as establishing a shrine in the garden.
A possible location is the sparsely populated and very beautiful Dovey Valley, which is 10 to 20 miles north of our present situation. This quiet valley seems to hold you in the palm of its hand and is an ideal setting for a contemplative rural retreat house. It has train stations at both end, in Machynlleth and Borth, offering easy access by rail, and the main road to Aberystywth, which is a small country road, runs through it.

A suitable property will cost around £200,000. The Tridos Bank has agreed to lend us a mortgage of £70,000 and a Charitable Trust has offered £5,000 once a property is purchased. |
